di Rosa Magical Path

di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art is a cultural institution and arts incubator presenting exhibitions by Bay Area artists. Located on 217 protected acres in the Napa Valley, di Rosa showcases works from the collection of arts patrons and collectors Rene and Veronica di Rosa, as well as exhibitions by contemporary artists from the Bay Area.
As part of di Rosa's sitewide accessibility improvements, Surfacedesign created an ADA accessibility route called the Magical Path. Between rows of existing palms, a path of switchbacks weaves back and forth along the hillside, safely connecting gallery and event spaces on campus. Native planting along the Magical Path will attract pollinators and add seasonal interest. With the path construction now complete and planting in progress, the path has already been integrated in performances and installations, in service of the di Rosa's mission to engage its community in the connective power of art and nature.
